Vintage Menu, Maxim’s 11.8.57

Provenance: From the estate of Madame Albert, wife of Monsieur Albert, Maxim’s celebrated Maitre d’ for three decades. It used to be said: “Everybody talks to Albert but Albert talks only to the Aga Khan.”

Description: This menu was for a special dinner honoring the President of Pakistan and his wife on November 8, 1957. The meal consisted of Germiny en tasse, braised filet of sole Albert, guinea hen
with tarragon, and iced raspberry soufflé. Krug Brut 1949 was served. On cream-colored stock. Slight aging around interior edges; tape mark on back cover. Overall condition: Very good.
